I know what traditional ad production looks like

4 reasons traditional ad production is broken in 2026

The client wants 5 changes and you already have a shoot scheduled

Location booked, crew reserved, model signed for Friday. Client on Wednesday: 'can we change the location to the beach and add a child?' In traditional production that means double the budget and a month's delay. In an AI workflow you update the prompt and have a new version in 30 minutes.

A film crew costs $1,200 a day — and you're shooting for two days

Director of photography, assistant, gaffer, sound engineer, makeup artist, location, catering. A shoot day runs $1,200–2,000 minimum. If the weather turns or the actor falls ill, you're back for another day. In an AI workflow you produce the same spot from your desk, in comfortable clothes, for $30–50 in tool subscriptions.

Post-production takes 3 days, the client wants revisions, and the deadline is tomorrow

The editor receives the footage and returns a rough cut three days later. Client watches it and asks for 14 changes. Second rough two days later. Then a third. The deadline has passed and you are weeks behind. In an AI workflow a change is a new prompt, and the final version is ready an hour after feedback.

Five rounds of briefs because nobody knows what the client wants — and the budget is gone before the shoot starts

Concept document, mood board, storyboard, animatic, presentation. Weeks of work before you film anything. The client rejects four concepts and approves the fifth because they have to. In an AI workflow you generate 10 hook variants in 45 minutes and the client sees real clips, not sketches.

The consequence: a client pays $5,000–15,000 for one spot, gets it three weeks late, with no variants to test. Competitors already using AI produce 10 ads on the same budget and know which hook converts. You're left with one version nobody watched to the end. See how the AI workflow works →

What you will learn about AI ad production

7 AI ad production skills you will leave the course with

  • 1
A 30-second ad spot in 1 day, not 2 weeks

Full brief-to-output workflow: brief at 9:00 AM, final MP4 at 5:00 PM — with 3 platform variants. A concrete recipe for the production day in the course, step by step, without 'learn by experimenting'.

  • 2
10 hook variants for A/B testing in 45 minutes

For every ad you generate 10 different 3-second openings (question, shock, problem demo, transformation, controversy, etc.). Load them into Meta Ads, measure hook rate, and send the winner to a full campaign. With AI this takes an hour, not a week.

  • 3
Brief-to-output workflow — 6 repeatable steps for every client

PDF checklist: scripting (30 min), hooks (45 min), main shots (40 min), CapCut edit (20 min), export (15 min), review (20 min). Repeat for every ad; the system scales. No more 'when will it be ready?' — you give the client a deadline to the hour.

  • 4
30-second scripts for 5 industries, ready to copy-paste

12 English ad script templates for e-commerce, food service, beauty, real estate, and B2B SaaS. Structure: hook + problem + solution + CTA, each template tested in a real campaign. Plug in your product and brand and you have a script.

  • 5
AI talents — no casting, no models, no usage rights

Generate a synthetic brand ambassador in Veo 3 and use them across 12 campaigns over 6 months. Consistency through a seed and character description. No more actor sourcing, image-rights contracts, or availability problems. Your character is yours.

  • 6
Export for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Meta Ads — in one session

One generation session, 5 export variants with matching ratios (9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9), lengths (15s, 30s, 60s), and hooks (slow burn vs jump-cut). Full CapCut template configuration in the course — copy-paste and click export.

  • 7
Creative brainstorm with AI — 30 ad concepts in 20 minutes

Before production you run a ChatGPT or Claude session with our brainstorming prompt structure and get 30 ad concepts: 10 hooks, 10 emotions, 10 full hook + body + CTA sequences. Filter against the client brief, pick the top 3 for production. No more staring at a blank page.

Your production day

Your 30-second ad workflow — 6 steps, 2.5 hours net

Brief at 9:00 AM, final MP4 with 5 platform variants at 5:00 PM. The rest of the day is breaks, waiting for renders, and checking results. Traditional production of the same spot takes a minimum of 2 weeks. Here is the exact breakdown.

1 30 min

Brief and scripting

Collect the brief from the client (or create an internal one for your own business). Feed it into our ChatGPT prompt template and get 3 variants of a 30-second script. Choose one, refine the hook text and CTA.

2 45 min

Generate 10 hooks

In Sora 2 or Veo 3, generate 10 different 3-second openings for the chosen script. Different emotions, camera angles, and talent types — all with English lip-sync.

3 40 min

Main shots (body + CTA)

Generate 4–6 additional 5–8-second clips that make up the rest of the ad (problem, solution, demo, CTA). Use our model-selection template to pick the right tool for each shot type.

4 20 min

Edit in CapCut

Import all clips into CapCut, assemble the final 30-second version using our timeline template. Add karaoke captions (85% of viewers watch without sound), colour grade, and sound design.

5 15 min

Export for platforms

From the master MP4 produce 5 variants: 9:16 (TikTok / Reels / Shorts), 1:1 (Meta Feed), 4:5 (Meta Ads), 16:9 (YouTube In-Stream), and a 15-second cut for Stories. All via CapCut presets.

6 20 min

Review and upload

Check each variant on the target device (mobile portrait, mobile without sound, desktop). Upload to Meta Ads or TikTok Ads Manager. Configure the A/B test for 10 hooks. Send the client a preview link.

Total: 2 hours 50 minutes of net work. On a normal day you finish comfortably by midday and spend the rest of the day on 2–3 additional ads for other clients. That kind of scale is simply not possible in traditional production.

Traditional production vs AI workflow

Traditional ad production vs AI workflow — 8 parameters

Numbers from real projects: 50 ads produced in traditional production (2023–2024) vs 50 produced in an AI workflow (2025–2026). Full methodology at our testing methodology.

Parameter Traditional production AI workflow
Production time for 30-second spot 2–3 weeks 1 day (2.5h net work)
Production cost $5,000–50,000 $30–50 in subscriptions
Team size 5–10 people You + a laptop
Number of hook variants 1–2 (budget exhausted) 10+ for A/B testing
Revision turnaround 3–5 days back in editing 30–60 min new prompt
Location change on client request New shoot schedule New prompt, 15 minutes
Model / actor Casting, image rights AI talent, your character
Export for 5 platforms 5x editing sessions = days CapCut preset, 15 min

AI does not replace creativity — it replaces the crew and the time. Idea, brief, script, A/B strategy — that is still your work. But production, post-production, and export become hours, not weeks. See also the individual tool courses: Sora 2, Veo 3, Runway.

FAQ

Common questions about the AI ad production course

Are ads made entirely with AI legal in the US, UK and EU?
Yes, with proper disclosure. The EU AI Act (full application from August 2026) requires labelling of AI-generated content that could be mistaken for real footage. In practice an 'AI-generated' label or description note is sufficient. The US and UK currently have no binding federal law on AI labelling in advertising, but FTC guidance recommends disclosure. AI talents (synthetic characters) are permitted, but deepfakes of real people without consent are not. The course includes a full chapter on compliance plus a ready-made disclosure clause for agency contracts.
Should I combine AI video with real product footage or go all-AI?
A mix tends to perform best. For e-commerce: real product shot (3–5 seconds at the start, builds trust) plus AI for the rest (context, lifestyle, emotion). The course covers three mix templates, including 'real pack-shot plus AI set design' and 'AI hook plus real CTA with the business owner'. A fully AI ad also works well for abstract categories like coaching, SaaS, and education.
What does the brief-to-output workflow look like? How long does a 30-second spot actually take?
Six steps, roughly 2.5 hours of net work: brief and scripting (30 min), generating 10 hook variants (45 min, 3–6 sec each), producing the main shots (40 min), editing in CapCut (20 min), export for 3 platforms (15 min), review (20 min). A full day's work yields 3–5 versions ready for testing. The course includes this workflow as a step-by-step PDF checklist.
How do I run A/B tests on AI ads, and how many hook variants should I generate?
The rule in the course: 10 hooks per final ad. You generate 10 different 3-second openings (question, shock, statistic, problem demo, transformation, etc.), spend $5–10 budget on Meta Ads for each, and measure CTR and hook rate in the first 3 seconds. The winning hook goes to the full campaign. With AI, generating 10 hooks takes 30 minutes; in traditional production the same task takes a week.
What do freelancers charge for AI video ads in 2026?
Market rates: a single 30-second spot $300–600, a package of 5 hooks plus 1 final $600–1,200, a monthly retainer (8–12 ads) $1,200–2,500. Traditional agency production of the same package runs $5,000–15,000. The freelancer's margin on AI Video is high because the real production cost is $30–50 in tool subscriptions. The course includes a ready-made rate card PDF and a client conversation script.
Can I use AI-generated clips commercially? What about copyright?
Yes. Clips from Sora 2, Veo 3, Runway, and Kling are licensed for commercial use under each platform's Terms of Service (on Pro and Business plans). Copyright in the finished spot belongs to you as the creator — AI is the tool, not the author. Exception: do not generate likenesses of real celebrities or competitor logos. The course includes a 4-page legal chapter updated for May 2026.
Does English lip-sync in AI ads sound natural in 2026?
Yes. In Veo 3 and Sora 2, English lip-sync in 2026 is production-ready. Veo 3 leads — English is one of the natively supported languages with neutral accent rendering. Sora 2 requires phonetic attention for acronyms (B2B, SaaS, ROI) and care with long sentences. The course includes 12 English ad script templates (8–12 seconds each) that sound natural in both models.
Do I need a model, actor, or voiceover artist for an AI ad?
No. AI talents are synthetic characters generated by Veo 3 or Sora 2. They can serve as your brand ambassador across many campaigns while maintaining consistency through a seed plus character description. Voiceover is also generated inside Veo 3 or Sora 2 with lip-sync. Casting, studio time, usage rights — all gone. The course has a dedicated chapter on AI talents.
Is this course only about ads, or about AI video in general?
The full KursVideoAI course is 168 pages covering AI video production across 5 tools: Sora 2, Veo 3, Kling 3, Runway, LTX, plus CapCut. Advertising is one of the main use cases with its own module (brief-to-output workflow, hooks, scripts, A/B testing) and 2 of the 4 portfolio projects. This page focuses on ad production because it is the most common business application.
