If you are looking for a tool that generates a 10-second clip from a text prompt, you need Veo 3 or Kling. CapCut does not do that. CapCut takes raw material, a screen recording, an AI generator clip, a product photo, adds captions, a CTA, music and sound effects, then exports a publication-ready MP4 for TikTok / Reels / Shorts, with a separate landscape version if you also publish on regular YouTube.

Common questions about the CapCut AI course

How much of the course is about CapCut?
Chapter 8 (Module 4, about 10 pages) is a full 8-step CapCut tutorial: import, Auto Captions, choosing the language, checking accuracy, karaoke-style animation, styling, sync check and export. It also covers music licensing and a platform format table. CapCut comes back in chapter 2 (your first video from zero to MP4), in chapter 7 (joining clips) and in every one of the 4 Module 5 projects, each with its own editing and captions section.
How accurate are CapCut's auto-captions?
Very good, but not flawless. On a 20 to 25-second clip a few words usually need fixing, most often proper nouns, industry jargon, acronyms and brand names. Chapter 8 shows where to look for errors and how to correct them on the timeline, and chapter 7 explains how phonetically spelled dialogue comes back in the captions and what you still need to check by hand.
How do I make karaoke captions in CapCut?
Step by step in the course: on mobile, Auto Captions, then Styles, then the Highlight or Karaoke category; on desktop, Text, then Animations, then Captions. Note that animations like 'Bounce Out' or 'Pop' bring whole words in, they do not highlight word by word. You also get concrete settings: Montserrat Bold or Poppins, white text with a yellow highlight (#FFD700), 60 to 80 px, positioned above the bottom 15% of the frame where the platform UI sits.
How do I combine CapCut with Veo 3 clips?
That is the main way of working in the course. Veo 3 gives you a clip of up to 8 seconds with sound, and CapCut adds karaoke captions, an end-screen CTA, an optional brand outro, music and sound effects. The Module 5 projects show it on concrete examples: a physiotherapy clinic ad, a vitamin C serum product reel, an online course explainer and a behind-the-scenes film at a café, including joining several clips on a straight cut and picking a colour preset.
Is CapCut music safe to use on Reels and Shorts?
It depends on the library. Chapter 8 explains the difference: tracks in the Music tab (the same as TikTok's) are for TikTok only, while sounds marked royalty-free or for commercial use can be published anywhere. For cross-posting the course lists safe sources: Epidemic Sound, Artlist, YouTube Audio Library, Pixabay Music / Mixkit and Veo 3's native music. This is practical guidance, not legal advice, and terms change, so check them as you go.
Do I need CapCut Pro to complete the course?
No. The tutorial and projects use features available in the free version: Auto Captions, caption styles, the sound library and 1080x1920 export. The course does not analyse CapCut's plans or ByteDance's terms of service, so check the current conditions in the app before using templates or music in client work.
Are there alternatives to CapCut?
Yes, chapter 8 compares three: TikTok's native editor (fastest if you only publish there, and you can legally use its music library), Descript (editing by text, strong English transcription) and VEED.io (in the browser, good for one-off videos). The course does not teach Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, because you do not need them for short vertical videos made from AI clips.
Which formats should I export in?
Chapter 8 has a printable table: TikTok, Reels and Shorts are 1080x1920 (9:16), standard YouTube is 1920x1080 (16:9), plus maximum and optimal lengths and file size limits. CapCut export: 1080x1920, 30 fps, MP4 (H.264). If you also publish on regular YouTube, you make a separate landscape version.
